SCHOLARSHIP NOTICE (1) Applications in plain paper are hereby invited from Non-sponsored undergraduate students undergoing courses in B.Sc (Agri)/(Hort)/(Agril. Engineering) and B.Tech (Agriculture/Horticulture/Agril Engineering) and who are permanent residents of Meghalaya and studying in different recognized State Agricultural Colleges and Central Agricultural Universities of India during session 2009-10 for the scholarship and Bookgrant. (2) Preference would be given to first year students, however, students studying in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year classes may also apply. (3) 90% of the scholarship available will be reserved for Tribal Students of Meghalaya and 10% for other permanent residents of the State. Selection of student for scholarship would be based on merit. (4) Applications should enclose the following certificates: 1. Photograph of the student 2. The Certificate from the Head of respective Institution that (1) the students is studying in a particular year, (2) the said college is recognized by the State Govt./Govt. of India (3) the student has not and will not avail any stipend/scholarship/fellowship from other sources. 3. NORTH EASTERN COUNCIL SECRETARIAT SCHOLARSHIP NOTIFICATION Since the Financial Year-1981-82. NEC had given financial assistance meritorious students going for higher studies in the field of Agriculture & Allied subjects specialized branches of Engineering Technology. Medicine, M..Phil, Ph.D etc in recognition of the student's merit and also to mitigate financial hardships to some extent. From Financial Year 2004-05, actual implementation, such as distribution and receipt of forms, scrutiny of the candidates and payments are being carried out by the Department of Higher & Technical Education of the concerned State Govt. Assistance are given for those students who do not avail of any other stipend from any other sources and has secured 55% for General and 50% for SC/ST students.
